"I combined many elements and concepts in this drawing. Whenever you try to remember a certain experience in life, it always comes in fragments. And this is one of the feeling that I wanted to get across through this drawing. I took pieces from magazines and brochures I collected from places I’ve been to and piled up a surrealistic world map of my memories. For example, the diving people in the grass and the augmented corals are fragments of my trip to Hawaii this summer. I enjoy using vibrant and more saturated palette to evoke a sense of nostalgia and distant childhood, which are two major themes of all my works."
