"I came to CMU as a computer science major, and it was rough. I kept comparing myself with my classmates because they were all doing it so easily while I was struggling to not drop my classes. I always loved cs, but now I felt like I was really bad at it. I found myself getting depressed and it was hard. Caps was pretty helpful for a little bit and the medication helped a lot, but I still felt angry and frustrated. While feeling really anxious and isolated, I found combining programming with art and music as a way to express myself. I went to a lecture on pairing music and code and I found the art the artists made to be very compelling and powerful. I started to find a more bigger reason as to why I like cs. The glitch piece I made gave me a healing process and I relate to this piece in a weird way."
